"Lunch'n Learn" Invitation Print

On Wednesday June 19, the Norwegian Consulate General and the Swedish Consulate General, in cooperation with, NACC, SACC, Innovation Norway, and INTSOK, will stage the third event in our monthly Norway House “Lunch’n Learn” Series.

The overall purpose of the “Lunch’n Learn” Series is to create an attractive platform to engage and inform our local US community of Norway’s numerous interests and capabilities. Speakers and subjects at each luncheon will vary across a broad spectrum spanning business, finance, culture, technology, medicine, innovation, commercialization, research and higher education. For this particular lunch event the scope will be broadened to include the potential for Swedish-American collaboration on research, technology, and innovation.

At our event on June 19, our luncheon speaker will be Dr. Magnus Hook, Director for the Center for Infectious and Inflammatory Diseases at Texas A&M University Health Science Center. His presentation will feature the following topic: "The Changing Landscape of the Biotechnology Industry". Dr. Hook has published extensively and his research is mainly focused on determining the molecular pathogenesis of infections and inflammatory diseases. Ultimately, Dr. Magnus Hook’s research seeks to translate research findings into new or improved strategies to prevent and treat infectious diseases.
