Scandinavian Volunters Sought |
Kaitlin Thompson, of the Fort Bend County Museum, is looking for volunteers. The Museum has a program called “Playing in the Past” where they play in different time periods with their younger museum visitors. This month they are focusing on Disney’s Frozen. Although Frozen is fictional, it is believed to take place somewhere in Scandinavia, most likely Norway, in approximately the mid 1800s. As a result they are doing bits of Scandinavian folklore, history, and crafts. The Museum is looking for people that would be willing to come out to their location -- 500 Houston Street in Richmond, Texas -- to showcase primarily traditional clothing, but anything else they would want to share as well! The Museum would love to show true traditional clothing to contrast with the fictionalized version seen in the movie. If you are available and would like to volunteer, contact Kaitlin Thompson (Educational Outreach, Fort Bend County Museum) at (281)342-6478 or This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
